About us
Building the evidence layer for understanding technology adoption in the Congo.
State of Tech DRC is a public-interest initiative documenting the place of technology in everyday life and the economy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The survey seeks to understand how technologies are adopted and what drives or limits their use. Repeated every year, it tracks these changes over time.
Each edition is built on a public survey whose results are available online and in an annual report. A conference in Kinshasa, also accessible remotely, opens the discussion around the findings. An action register then tracks what follows from the edition.
The goal is to make the results useful to institutions, companies, researchers, and everyone seeking to understand technology adoption in the DRC and inform their decisions. The methodology and its limitations accompany the results so that everyone can properly weigh their scope.
The first survey covers technology adoption during 2026. Its results will be published and presented at the inaugural edition in 2027.
